Commercial locksmith in Jasper, AL

Storefronts, offices, shops, churches, and rentals. We open them when the key is missing, rekey them when a staff key walks off, and build master key systems so a manager carries one key.

Commercial lock calls in Walker County come from a short list of buildings: downtown Jasper offices near the courthouse, shops on the Highway 78 strip, churches that cannot find the side-door key on a Sunday morning, plants and rentals in Sumiton, Dora, and Cordova. Area Locksmith Services covers that list from Jasper. The number is (205) 235-2476. We have done this work in the county since 2018.

Business lockouts

A manager is outside, the opener is not, and the shop is supposed to unlock in twenty minutes. We open the door by picking or by the method that fits that hardware, after you show you have the right to the building. Drilling a commercial cylinder is a last step, quoted first, because it means new hardware and a door that may need to be secure again before you open for customers. Weekend lockouts use the standard rate through 7:00 PM.

Staff changes and master keys

Someone quit with a key, or you never had a system and every employee carries a copy of everything. A commercial rekey kills the keys you name. A master key system goes further: one key for the owner, limited keys for staff, and a layout that matches the building you have, not a chart from a catalog. We design that around the actual doors. It is more planning than a single-cylinder house rekey, and the quote says so. Residential rekeys are a different page: lock rekeying.

Exit hardware and storefronts

Panic bars that do not latch, dogged devices that were forgotten, closers that slam, aluminum doors that sit low on the latch. We adjust and repair exit devices and storefront hardware, and we install replacements when repair is no longer honest. The goal is a door that locks tonight and still opens the way the fire exit requires. We do not bypass an exit device to make a door "more secure." If the opening is wrong for the hardware, we tell you.

Keypads and simple access control

A standalone keypad is the right upgrade for a small office that rekeys every time a part-timer leaves. We install and program those, and we leave you able to change the code. Wider networked access control is a bigger design conversation. We will say if what you are describing is beyond a single-door keypad before we sell you one.

Have someone with authority on site: the owner, or a manager the owner named. We will not rekey a business because a person at the door says they work there. ID and something that shows control of the property come first.

The van reaches Jasper, Cordova, Sipsey, Sumiton, Dora, and Empire. There is no storefront to drop locks off at. We come to the building. For the coverage map and drive times, see Walker County towns.

Questions we answer on the phone

Can you rekey a building if an employee kept a key?

Yes. We re-pin the cylinders that key opened, and we can keep a master key working for the owner while the old staff key dies. You need authority over the building to order that rekey.

Do you service panic bars and exit devices?

Yes. Adjustment, repair, and installation of exit hardware, so the door still latches and still opens under pressure. If a device is the wrong type for the opening, we say that before selling a like-for-like replacement that would not belong there.

We have an aluminum storefront that will not lock. Can you fix the lock without replacing the whole door?

Often. Storefront deadlatches, mortise cylinders, pivots, and closers fail because of alignment as much as because of the lock. We repair the cause we actually find.

Do you install keypads so we can stop rekeying after every hire?

Yes, standalone keypad and electronic entry on many commercial doors. Changing a code is then an office task. We will tell you when a door is a poor candidate and a mechanical rekey is the sturdier choice.
